Talks & Presentations

What is the law, why does someone do this work, what does it actually cost..., how do things really work, do prostitutes have to go to the doctor, who are the clients, what do your parents think about your choice to work as a prostitute? People have so many questions and no one that they know (as far as they know...) who can answer these questions. Groups can arrange to visit The Wallenwinkel/PIC for a talk or presentation about prostitution and the Red Light District and where there is also the chance to ask questions. It is also possible to combine a talk with a tour through the neighbourhood.

Talks are given by experts (former sex workers) at The Wallenwinkel/PIC. The fee for the talk is € 7,50 per person (plus tax) and includes a non-alcoholic beverage. The talk is for 1 hour. Your group will learn about all the relevant aspects of prostitution - legal, practical and emotional - and there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions.

For many years several universities, including the University of Amsterdam, appreciatively make use of this opportunity to talk openly about prostitution. They regularly bring groups of (international) students throughout the year to The Wallenwinkel/PIC for one of our talks. A prior appointment is necessary!
